Erinma Ochu (The University of Salford, UK); Gameli Adzaho (Global Lab Network, Ghana ); Hilary Geoghegan (The University of Reading, UK); Andy Miah (The University of Salford, UK); Anna Ramsay (Wellcome Collection, UK), Tom Saunders (UKRI, UK)
This world cafe and accompanying panel of provocations from academics, practitioners and funders considers a range of perspectives around the importance of place in science engagement, and positioning this within the wider cultural landscape to take a more considered and equitable approach to placemaking. In this light, it considers what we might learn from the research and innovation landscape, the heritage sector, civil society, the cultural sector and the traditional role of universities as civic institutions. This session takes the opportunity to draw from local and global perspectives through the world cafe format engaging those in attendance. The session will be captured and made available after the session.
Each speaker will provide a 5-7 minute provocation for people to think differently around science engagement and place.
